Vanessa Lynn Williams is an American actress, singer, producer and former fashion model. She is the first African-American woman to become Miss America in 1983. In 1988, she released her first album The Right Stuff as musician. The Comfort Zone, her second album became the biggest success in her music career.Her other releases include Everlasting Love (2005), Silver & Gold (2004), Next (1997) and Star Bright (1996).
Williams broadened her ascendant music career into a theatrical role when she was cast in the Kiss of the Spider Woman. She has appeared in several films and the most prominent role was in the Soul Food (1997). Williams appeared in the cult classic film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991). She co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Eraser and opposite Chayanne in Dance with Me. She appeared as guest on a number of shows, including T.J. Hooker, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, MADtv, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Saturday Night Live, Boomtown, Ally McBeal and LateLine . She earned multiple Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award nominations.
